Research Interests

Lorene’s main research interest in the laboratory is to understand the role of lactate as a neuroprotective agent. She uses imaging techniques to characterize cytosolic free-Ca2+ transients in response to Lactate in cells expressing NMDARs and, also optimizing conditions for the transfection and the maintenance of various primary cultures and cell lines.
